Statement of Faith

My name is Brother Scott Grogan and I would like to tell you a bit about myself. I grew up in a wonderful Christian home and have been in church all my life. However, just like every other person I was a sinner in need of a Saviour. Even though I had gone to church every week and to every revival, I did not trust Christ as my Saviour until my teenage years. It was not by any good thing I had done but only by his marvelous grace Christ saved me.

As the year went by and I grew in the Lord, He began to burden my heart about serving him by going into the ministry as a preacher. Sadly, I must admit that I resisted the Lord for months because I never thought I could do it. I made many excuses, like alot of us do when we are unwilling to do something he asks. My disabilities and poor health will not let me do this, I told the Lord. Thankfully God was longsuffering and worked with me until I surrendered to the call to preach.

Once I began in the ministry, I could see God's providencial hand leading me to that point in my life. He had placed us at Faith Baptist Church where there are always many ministies going on and we have a Pastor who always encourages young people to serve the Lord. Over the last 12 or so years, I have preached in children's ministry, nursing home ministry and many others. The Holy Spirit worked in my heart through this time to teach me numerous lessons that I needed to learn. Now God has burdened my heart for something else. The Lord has led me to go into evangelism and to spread the Word of God to other places. I am now endevoring, with the help of Almighty God, to go forward into the work he has called me to. I ask you to pray for me as I follow the leadership of the Lord; that he would open doors and that the Holy Spirit would work in hearts everywhere I go.
